CD8B

Alternative Names: CD8 Antigen, Beta Polypeptide 1 (P37), CD8b Molecule, CD8b Antigen, T-Cell Surface Glycoprotein CD8 Beta Chain, CD8B1, LYT3, LY3, LEU2, P37, T Lymphocyte Surface Glycoprotein Beta Chain

CD8B is responsible for the production of CD8 beta chain variants, which are part of the CD8 antigen found on cytotoxic T lymphocytes. CD8 is a glycoprotein that supports effective cell-cell communication in the immune system. It is located on the surface of most cytotoxic T lymphocytes and works in conjunction with the T-cell receptor to recognize antigens displayed by antigen presenting cells. The co-receptor CD8 helps to identify these antigens by binding to class I MHC molecules. The co-receptor is made up of either a combination of one alpha and one beta chain or two alpha chains. Both the alpha and beta chains have significant similarity to immunoglobulin variable light chains.

Product Description

Recombinant Human CD8B is a protein that plays a significant role in the immune system. Belonging to the CD8 family, it functions as a co-receptor for the T-cell receptor on cytotoxic T cells, aiding in the recognition of major histocompatibility complex class I molecules. With a weight of approximately 33 kDa, this protein is involved in the regulation of T cell activation and immune response. Its recombinant form is widely used in scientific research to study the intricate mechanisms of the immune system.

Storage Instruction

Reconstituted store at -20°C or -80°C.We recommend that single use aliquots are prepared to avoid freeze-thaw cycles.

Sample Prep Instruction

1. Thaw the vial on ice, spin briefly
2. Prepare single-use or stock aliquots. This stage will depend on your final application so please adapt as appropriate. All our proteins are supplied carrier protein-free. If compatible with your work and you are storing at lower concentrations (<50 ug/ml) adding carrier protein is highly advised (usually 1% w/v high purity BSA or equivalent – ensure all buffers are sterile-filtered).
3. Prepare single-use aliquots whenever possible to avoid freeze-thaw cycles which can damage the proteins and reduce bioactivity. Store aliquots at -70 °C (or -20 °C)
4. We recommend sterile filtering after dilution in media or the final working solution
