CD86

Alternative Names: B7-2/CD86, CD86, B7-2, B7.2, B70, CD28LG2, LAB72, T-lymphocyte activation antigen CD86, Activation B7-2 antigen, B70, BU63, CTLA-4 counter-receptor B7.2, FUN-1.

CD86, also called B7-2 or Cluster of Differentiation 86, is an antigen-presenting cell protein essential for T cell activation and survival. It serves as a costimulatory signal for T cells, acting as the ligand for both CD28 (for autoregulation and intercellular association) and CTLA-4 (for attenuation of regulation and cellular disassociation), two distinct proteins.

Product Description

Recombinant Human CD86, a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily, is a protein that plays a significant role in immune responses. Belonging to the B7 family, CD86 acts as a co-stimulatory molecule by binding to its receptor, CD28, on T cells. This interaction is crucial for T cell activation and the subsequent initiation of an immune response. With a molecular weight of approximately X kilodaltons, Recombinant Human CD86 is an important target for research and therapeutic applications in immunology.

Storage Instruction

Reconstituted store at -20°C or -80°C.We recommend that single use aliquots are prepared to avoid freeze-thaw cycles.

Sample Prep Instruction

1. Thaw the vial on ice, spin briefly
2. Prepare single-use or stock aliquots. This stage will depend on your final application so please adapt as appropriate. All our proteins are supplied carrier protein-free. If compatible with your work and you are storing at lower concentrations (<50 ug/ml) adding carrier protein is highly advised (usually 1% w/v high purity BSA or equivalent – ensure all buffers are sterile-filtered).
3. Prepare single-use aliquots whenever possible to avoid freeze-thaw cycles which can damage the proteins and reduce bioactivity. Store aliquots at -70 °C (or -20 °C)
4. We recommend sterile filtering after dilution in media or the final working solution
