CD4 (203-317)

Alternative Names: HLA-2, Ly-4, gp55, L3 / T4, T cell antigen T4/LEU3, T4, sCD4.

CD4 is a glycoprotein found on a specific type of T cell, accounting for 45% of lymphocytes in the blood. It is also found on 80% of thymocytes and at a lower level on monocytes. CD4 plays a role in recognizing antigens presented by antigen-presenting cells along with MHC class II. It is also a receptor for HIV. Antibodies to CD4 can identify T-helper cells needed for recognizing class II antigens. CD4 antibodies react with approximately 60% of peripheral blood E rosette-positive cells, but show little reactivity with E- cells, monocytes, granulocytes, EBV-transformed B cell lines, and mouse splenocytes.

Product Description

Recombinant Human CD4 (203-317) is a genetically engineered protein that belongs to the immunoglobulin superfamily. With a molecular weight of approximately 15 kDa, this protein plays a significant role in the immune response by acting as a co-receptor for the T-cell receptor (TCR) and facilitating the interaction between T cells and antigen-presenting cells. It assists in the recognition and binding of major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class II molecules, thereby initiating the activation of T cells. This recombinant protein is commonly used in research and therapeutic applications due to its ability to modulate immune responses and its potential in the development of novel immunotherapies.

Product Guarantee

If your product is within its expiration period, and has not performed according to expectations, fill out the sample return form. Return the unused sample frozen, with the auto generated packing slip to the address on the instructions. You will receive a full refund along with a replacement of the unused portion (inclusive of the failed test). Damages do not cover any additional costs incurred for failed experimentation.

Storage Instruction

Store vial at -20oC to -80oC. When stored at the recommended temperature, this protein is stable for 12 months. Please avoid freeze-thaw cycles.

Sample Prep Instruction

It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized CD-4 (203-317)in sterile 18MΩ-cm H₂O not less than 100µg/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
