CD4 (125-202)

Alternative Names: HLA-2, Ly-4, T4, T cell antigen T4/LEU3, L3 / T4, sCD4, gp55.

CD4 is a glycoprotein found on a specific type of T cell, known as helper/inducer cells. These cells make up 45% of lymphocytes in the blood and are also present on 80% of thymocytes (a type of immune cell) and to a lesser extent on monocytes (a type of white blood cell). CD4 plays a role in recognizing antigens when presented alongside MHC class II molecules by antigen-presenting cells (APCs). It also acts as a receptor for HIV. Antibodies that target CD4 can identify T-helper cells, which are necessary for recognizing class II antigens. These antibodies react with around 60% of E rosette-positive cells in the blood, but do not show much reactivity with E- cells, monocytes, granulocytes, EBV-transformed B cell lines, or mouse splenocytes.

Product Description

Recombinant Human CD4 (125-202) is a protein fragment derived from the CD4 receptor, a glycoprotein found on the surface of immune cells. Belonging to the immunoglobulin superfamily, this fragment plays a crucial role in the immune response by facilitating the interaction between T cells and antigen-presenting cells. With a molecular weight of approximately 9.5 kDa, Recombinant Human CD4 (125-202) serves as a valuable tool for studying immune system functions and developing therapeutic interventions.

Product Guarantee

If your product is within its expiration period, and has not performed according to expectations, fill out the sample return form. Return the unused sample frozen, with the auto generated packing slip to the address on the instructions. You will receive a full refund along with a replacement of the unused portion (inclusive of the failed test). Damages do not cover any additional costs incurred for failed experimentation.

Storage Instruction

Store vial at -20oC to -80oC. When stored at the recommended temperature, this protein is stable for 12 months. Please avoid freeze-thaw cycles.

Sample Prep Instruction

It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized CD-4 (125-202) in sterile 18MΩ-cm H2O not less than 100µg/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
