CD207

Alternative Names: Not Available

CD207, also known as Langerin, is a C-type lectin protein expressed in Langerhans cells, which are immature dendritic cells found in the epidermis and mucosa. It is also expressed in other dendritic cell types such as dermal CD103+ DCs and splenic CD8+ DCs. Langerin is located in Birbeck granules, which are organelles in the cytoplasm of Langerhans cells consisting of folded membranes. CD207 binds to mannose and this binding is thought to enable the internalization of antigens into Birbeck granules. This process allows for antigen processing through a nonclassical pathway.

Product Description

Recombinant Human CD207, a member of the C-type lectin family, is a protein primarily expressed on the surface of dendritic cells. This protein, also known as Langerin, plays a significant role in antigen presentation and immune response modulation. With a molecular weight of approximately 44 kDa, Recombinant Human CD207 is involved in the capture and internalization of antigens, particularly those associated with pathogens, leading to their subsequent presentation to T cells. Its importance in immune surveillance and activation makes Recombinant Human CD207 a valuable tool for research and development in immunology and vaccine design.

Storage Instruction

Reconstituted store at -20°C or -80°C.We recommend that single use aliquots are prepared to avoid freeze-thaw cycles.

Sample Prep Instruction

1. Thaw the vial on ice, spin briefly
2. Prepare single-use or stock aliquots. This stage will depend on your final application so please adapt as appropriate. All our proteins are supplied carrier protein-free. If compatible with your work and you are storing at lower concentrations (<50 ug/ml) adding carrier protein is highly advised (usually 1% w/v high purity BSA or equivalent – ensure all buffers are sterile-filtered).
3. Prepare single-use aliquots whenever possible to avoid freeze-thaw cycles which can damage the proteins and reduce bioactivity. Store aliquots at -70 °C (or -20 °C)
4. We recommend sterile filtering after dilution in media or the final working solution
