CD19

Alternative Names: CD19 Molecule, B-Lymphocyte Surface Antigen B4, T-Cell Surface Antigen Leu-12, Differentiation Antigen CD19, CD19 Antigen, B-Lymphocyte Antigen CD19, CVID3, B4.

CD19, also called B-Lymphocyte Surface Antigen B4, is a member of the Ig superfamily found on the surface of almost all B-lymphoid cells, except plasma cells. It serves as a signal-transducing receptor for controlling differentiation and proliferation. CD19 acts as an adapter protein, recruiting cytoplasmic signaling proteins to the membrane, and functions within the CD19/CD21 complex to lower the threshold for B cell receptor signaling pathways. It is present in all B cells and can be used as a biomarker for diagnosing lymphoma and studying B lymphocyte development. Moreover, CD19 can be targeted for immunotherapies against leukemia.

Product Description

Recombinant Human CD19 is a protein that plays a significant role in the immune system. Belonging to the immunoglobulin superfamily, CD19 acts as a co-receptor for B-cell receptor signaling and is involved in B-cell development and activation. With a molecular weight of approximately 95 kDa, this protein is crucial for proper functioning of the adaptive immune response. Its recombinant form is widely used in research and therapeutic applications, offering insights into immunological processes and potential treatments for B-cell-related disorders.

Storage Instruction

Reconstituted store at -20°C or -80°C.We recommend that single use aliquots are prepared to avoid freeze-thaw cycles.

Sample Prep Instruction

1. Thaw the vial on ice, spin briefly
2. Prepare single-use or stock aliquots. This stage will depend on your final application so please adapt as appropriate. All our proteins are supplied carrier protein-free. If compatible with your work and you are storing at lower concentrations (<50 ug/ml) adding carrier protein is highly advised (usually 1% w/v high purity BSA or equivalent – ensure all buffers are sterile-filtered).
3. Prepare single-use aliquots whenever possible to avoid freeze-thaw cycles which can damage the proteins and reduce bioactivity. Store aliquots at -70 °C (or -20 °C)
4. We recommend sterile filtering after dilution in media or the final working solution
