CD14 CHO

Alternative Names: CD14, Monocyte differentiation antigen CD14, Myeloid cell-specific leucine-rich glycoprotein

CD14 is a receptor found on monocytes, macrophages, and neutrophils. It is attached to cells via glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI) and acts as a receptor for complexes of lipopolysaccharide (LPS) and LPS binding protein (LBP). Soluble CD14, which also binds to LPS, can function as an LPS agonist at normal concentrations and has an antagonizing effect on LPS activation at higher concentrations. CD14 has also been observed to bind apoptotic cells.

Product Description

Recombinant Human CD14 CHO is a protein expressed in Chinese Hamster Ovary (CHO) cells through genetic engineering techniques. Belonging to the family of lipopolysaccharide (LPS) receptors, it plays a significant role in the innate immune response. With a molecular weight of approximately 40 kDa, Recombinant Human CD14 CHO acts as a co-receptor for Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) and facilitates the recognition and binding of bacterial LPS, thereby initiating downstream signaling cascades. Its expression and functionality make it a valuable tool for studying immune responses and developing therapeutic interventions.

Product Guarantee

If your product is within its expiration period, and has not performed according to expectations, fill out the sample return form. Return the unused sample frozen, with the auto generated packing slip to the address on the instructions. You will receive a full refund along with a replacement of the unused portion (inclusive of the failed test). Damages do not cover any additional costs incurred for failed experimentation.

Storage Instruction

Lyophilized CD14 although stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, should be stored desiccated below -18°C. Upon reconstitution CD14 should be stored at 4°C between 2-7 days and for future use below -18°C.For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA).Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.

Sample Prep Instruction

It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized CD14 in sterile 18MΩ-cm H2O not less than 100µg/ml. Further dilutions should be made with phosphate buffered saline (PBS).
