Basigin Isoform 2 (BSG) is a type 1 transmembrane protein that belongs to the immunoglobulin superfamily. It is involved in intercellular recognition and plays a crucial role in various immunologic processes, cell differentiation, and development. BSG has multiple ligands, including integrins and cyclophilin proteins Cyp-A and CyP-B. Additionally, it regulates important cell functions like the production and release of mono-carboxylate transporter, spermatogenesis, etc. BSG also promotes the invasion, metastasis, growth, and survival of malignant cells by releasing matrix metalloproteinases near mesenchymal and tumor cells.

Product Description

Recombinant Human Copper Chaperone for Superoxide Dismutase (rhCCS) is a protein that belongs to the copper chaperone family. With a molecular weight of approximately X kDa, rhCCS plays a critical role in the maturation of copper-zinc superoxide dismutase (SOD1), an enzyme involved in the defense against oxidative stress. This copper chaperone facilitates the insertion of copper ions into the active site of SOD1, ensuring its proper folding and functionality. By maintaining the correct copper content, rhCCS contributes to the overall stability and activity of SOD1, thereby safeguarding cells against harmful reactive oxygen species.

Storage Instruction

Reconstituted store at -20°C or -80°C.We recommend that single use aliquots are prepared to avoid freeze-thaw cycles.

Sample Prep Instruction

1. Thaw the vial on ice, spin briefly
2. Prepare single-use or stock aliquots. This stage will depend on your final application so please adapt as appropriate. All our proteins are supplied carrier protein-free. If compatible with your work and you are storing at lower concentrations (<50 ug/ml) adding carrier protein is highly advised (usually 1% w/v high purity BSA or equivalent – ensure all buffers are sterile-filtered).
3. Prepare single-use aliquots whenever possible to avoid freeze-thaw cycles which can damage the proteins and reduce bioactivity. Store aliquots at -70 °C (or -20 °C)
4. We recommend sterile filtering after dilution in media or the final working solution
