C4c

Alternative Names: Complement C4c, C4c, Complement Component C4c.

C4c is a product of C4b that is produced when C4b is broken down by C4b/C3b inactivator. C4c then interacts with C1 and C2 to create C3 convertase, which is part of the classic activation pathway. SLE is often linked to a deficiency of C4 from birth. After activation of the pathway, conditions like SLE, acute serum sickness, and diseases with immune complexes often result in reduced levels of classic pathway components (C1, C2, C4, C3).

Product Description

Human Complement Component C4c is a protein that plays a significant role in the immune system's complement cascade. Belonging to the complement system family, C4c acts as a precursor to C4b, which is involved in the opsonization and lysis of pathogens. With a molecular weight of approximately 190 kilodaltons, C4c exhibits structural and functional diversity, participating in various immune responses. Understanding the intricate mechanisms and functions of C4c contributes to the comprehension of immune system regulation and aids in the diagnosis and treatment of complement-related disorders.

Product Guarantee

If your product is within its expiration period, and has not performed according to expectations, fill out the sample return form. Return the unused sample frozen, with the auto generated packing slip to the address on the instructions. You will receive a full refund along with a replacement of the unused portion (inclusive of the failed test). Damages do not cover any additional costs incurred for failed experimentation.

Storage Instruction

Reconstituted store at -20°C or -80°C.We recommend that single use aliquots are prepared to avoid freeze-thaw cycles.

Sample Prep Instruction

1. Thaw the vial on ice, spin briefly
2. Prepare single-use or stock aliquots. This stage will depend on your final application so please adapt as appropriate. All our proteins are supplied carrier protein-free. If compatible with your work and you are storing at lower concentrations (<50 ug/ml) adding carrier protein is highly advised (usually 1% w/v high purity BSA or equivalent – ensure all buffers are sterile-filtered).
3. Prepare single-use aliquots whenever possible to avoid freeze-thaw cycles which can damage the proteins and reduce bioactivity. Store aliquots at -70 °C (or -20 °C)
4. We recommend sterile filtering after dilution in media or the final working solution
