C1QBP

Alternative Names: Hyaluronan-binding protein 1, Mitochondrial matrix protein p32, p33, Complement component 1 Q subcomponent-binding protein mitochondrial, Glycoprotein gC1qBP, C1qBP, GC1q-R protein, gC1Qr, SF2p32, p32, HABP1, GC1QBP, C1QBP.

C1QBP (accession number NP_001203) inhibits c1 activation by binding to the globular "heads" of c1q. It interacts with various ligands and is involved in cell signaling. C1QBP associates with C1r and C1s to form the first component of the serum complement system. It is also known as the p32 subunit of pre-mRNA splicing factor SF2 and a hyaluronic acid-binding protein. C1QBP serves as a marker for tumor cells and tumor-associated macrophages/myeloid cells in hypoxic/metabolically deprived tumor areas. Mitochondrial C1QBP plays a crucial role in p14ARF-induced apoptosis. It acts as a chemotactic factor for immature dendritic cells, facilitating their migration through ligation of both C1QBP and cC1qR/CR. Overexpression of C1QBP blocks mRNA accumulation from the adenovirus major late transcription unit (MLTU) and stimulates RNA polymerase II carboxy-terminal domain phosphorylation in virus-infected cells. Additionally, C1QBP binds to the Hepacivirus core protein on CD8+ and CD4+ positive T-cells, leading to the inactivation of lck and akt.

Product Description

Recombinant Human Complement Component 1, a protein encoded by the C1QA gene, is a vital component of the complement system, a part of the innate immune response. Belonging to the family of serine proteases, it plays a crucial role in the activation of the classical pathway of the complement system. With a molecular weight of approximately 85-90 kDa, Recombinant Human Complement Component 1 acts as a recognition molecule, binding to immune complexes and initiating the cascade of complement activation, ultimately leading to the elimination of pathogens.

Product Guarantee

If your product is within its expiration period, and has not performed according to expectations, fill out the sample return form. Return the unused sample frozen, with the auto generated packing slip to the address on the instructions. You will receive a full refund along with a replacement of the unused portion (inclusive of the failed test). Damages do not cover any additional costs incurred for failed experimentation.

Storage Instruction

Reconstituted store at -20°C or -80°C.We recommend that single use aliquots are prepared to avoid freeze-thaw cycles.

Sample Prep Instruction

1. Thaw the vial on ice, spin briefly
2. Prepare single-use or stock aliquots. This stage will depend on your final application so please adapt as appropriate. All our proteins are supplied carrier protein-free. If compatible with your work and you are storing at lower concentrations (<50 ug/ml) adding carrier protein is highly advised (usually 1% w/v high purity BSA or equivalent – ensure all buffers are sterile-filtered).
3. Prepare single-use aliquots whenever possible to avoid freeze-thaw cycles which can damage the proteins and reduce bioactivity. Store aliquots at -70 °C (or -20 °C)
4. We recommend sterile filtering after dilution in media or the final working solution
