C17ORF103

Alternative Names: Chromosome 17 Open Reading Frame 103, Gene Trap Locus F3b, Gtlf3b, Protein GTLF3B, Transcript Expressed During Hematopoiesis 2.

C17orf103 belongs to the GTLF3B family and is encoded by a gene found on human chromosome 17p11.2. This chromosome is associated with two important tumor suppressor genes, BRCA1 and p53. The p53 gene is specifically responsible for maintaining the integrity of cellular genetics by controlling outcomes such as DNA repair or cell death. Additionally, C17orf103 is also connected to neurofibromatosis, a disorder characterized by lesions in the neural and epidermal tissues, as well as abnormal growth of Schwann cells.

Product Description

Recombinant Human Chromosome 17 Open Reading Frame 103 (C17orf103) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 17 in humans. Belonging to the C17orf103 family, this gene encodes a protein with an unknown function. With a molecular weight of approximately X kilodaltons, C17orf103 is yet to be extensively studied, and its precise role in cellular processes remains to be elucidated. Understanding the functional significance of C17orf103 may provide valuable insights into the intricate mechanisms governing human biology.

Storage Instruction

Reconstituted store at -20°C or -80°C.We recommend that single use aliquots are prepared to avoid freeze-thaw cycles.

Sample Prep Instruction

1. Thaw the vial on ice, spin briefly
2. Prepare single-use or stock aliquots. This stage will depend on your final application so please adapt as appropriate. All our proteins are supplied carrier protein-free. If compatible with your work and you are storing at lower concentrations (<50 ug/ml) adding carrier protein is highly advised (usually 1% w/v high purity BSA or equivalent – ensure all buffers are sterile-filtered).
3. Prepare single-use aliquots whenever possible to avoid freeze-thaw cycles which can damage the proteins and reduce bioactivity. Store aliquots at -70 °C (or -20 °C)
4. We recommend sterile filtering after dilution in media or the final working solution
