Bcl-2 -BH1

Alternative Names: Bcl-2, BCL2, B-cell CLL/lymphoma 2, Apoptosis regulator Bcl-2.

The BCL2 gene produces a protein that prevents certain cells, like lymphocytes, from undergoing apoptotic death. When BCL2 is constantly expressed, as in the case of translocation to the Ig heavy chain locus, it has been implicated in the development of follicular lymphoma. Two versions of the gene, resulting from different ways the RNA is processed, have variations in their C-terminal ends.

Product Description

Recombinant Human B-Cell Leukemia/Lymphoma 2 -BH1 is a protein belonging to the Bcl-2 family, which plays a significant role in regulating cell death and survival. This protein is involved in inhibiting programmed cell death, or apoptosis, by preventing the release of cytochrome c from the mitochondria. With a molecular weight of approximately X kDa, Recombinant Human B-Cell Leukemia/Lymphoma 2 -BH1 serves as a crucial modulator of cellular processes and is extensively studied for its potential implications in various diseases, including cancer.

Storage Instruction

Lyophilized Bcl-2 although stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, should be stored desiccated below -18°C. Upon reconstitution Bcl-2 should be stored at 4°C between 2-7 days and for future use below -18°C. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.

Sample Prep Instruction

Suspend Bcl-2 in 100?l of 0.5M Acetic acid, over night at 4°C. Dilute 10 fold into selected buffer system. BCL-2 has tendency to form intramolecular disulfide bond, 5mM DTT is recommended in assay buffer. When running SDS-PAGE gel, 10mM DTT is recommended.
