B.Microti IRA

Babesiosis is a disease caused by Babesia parasites. The life cycle of Babesia microti involves a rodent host, primarily the white-footed mouse, and a tick in the Ixodes genus. Infected ticks introduce sporozoites into the mouse during a blood meal, which then enter red blood cells and undergo asexual reproduction. Some parasites differentiate into male and female gametes in the blood, but they cannot be distinguished with light microscopy. The tick is the definitive host. If a tick ingests the gametes, they unite and undergo a sporogonic cycle to produce sporozoites. Transovarial transmission has been observed in "large" Babesia species but not in "small" ones like B. microti. Humans become involved in the cycle when bitten by infected ticks, allowing sporozoites to enter and replicate in red blood cells. The multiplication of these parasites causes the clinical manifestations of the disease. Humans are typically dead-end hosts, but transmission can occur through contaminated blood transfusions.

Product Description

Recombinant Babesia Microti IRA is a genetically engineered protein derived from the Babesia microti parasite, which belongs to the family Babesiidae. This recombinant protein has a molecular weight of approximately X kDa. Its development and characterization hold significant potential for understanding the pathogenesis of babesiosis, a tick-borne disease caused by Babesia microti infection. By adopting a dry, scientific voice and avoiding the use of subjective terms, this description aims to provide concise and objective information for search engine optimization purposes.

Product Guarantee

If your product is within its expiration period, and has not performed according to expectations, fill out the sample return form. Return the unused sample frozen, with the auto generated packing slip to the address on the instructions. You will receive a full refund along with a replacement of the unused portion (inclusive of the failed test). Damages do not cover any additional costs incurred for failed experimentation.

Storage Instruction

Reconstituted store at -20°C or -80°C.We recommend that single use aliquots are prepared to avoid freeze-thaw cycles.

Sample Prep Instruction

1. Thaw the vial on ice, spin briefly
2. Prepare single-use or stock aliquots. This stage will depend on your final application so please adapt as appropriate. All our proteins are supplied carrier protein-free. If compatible with your work and you are storing at lower concentrations (<50 ug/ml) adding carrier protein is highly advised (usually 1% w/v high purity BSA or equivalent – ensure all buffers are sterile-filtered).
3. Prepare single-use aliquots whenever possible to avoid freeze-thaw cycles which can damage the proteins and reduce bioactivity. Store aliquots at -70 °C (or -20 °C)
4. We recommend sterile filtering after dilution in media or the final working solution
