ATG3

Alternative Names: APG3, APG3-LIKE, APG3L, Ubiquitin-like-conjugating enzyme ATG3, Autophagy-related protein 3, hApg3, PC3-96, PC3-96, ATG3.

ATG3 is a crucial enzyme for Cvt, autophagy, and maintaining mitochondrial homeostasis. It is primarily found in the cytoplasm and has high levels of expression in kidney, placenta, liver, heart, and skeletal muscle. ATG3 plays a key role in autophagy by catalyzing the formation of the ATG-PE conjugate.

Product Description

Recombinant Human Autophagy Related 3 (ATG3) is a protein involved in the autophagy pathway, a cellular process responsible for the degradation and recycling of damaged or unnecessary cellular components. ATG3 belongs to the ATG3 family, which comprises proteins crucial for the conjugation of ATG8-like proteins to phosphatidylethanolamine (PE) during autophagosome formation. With a molecular weight of approximately X kDa, ATG3 plays a significant role in maintaining cellular homeostasis by facilitating the proper execution of autophagy, a process vital for cellular survival and adaptation to stress conditions.

Storage Instruction

Reconstituted store at -20°C or -80°C.We recommend that single use aliquots are prepared to avoid freeze-thaw cycles.

Sample Prep Instruction

1. Thaw the vial on ice, spin briefly
2. Prepare single-use or stock aliquots. This stage will depend on your final application so please adapt as appropriate. All our proteins are supplied carrier protein-free. If compatible with your work and you are storing at lower concentrations (<50 ug/ml) adding carrier protein is highly advised (usually 1% w/v high purity BSA or equivalent – ensure all buffers are sterile-filtered).
3. Prepare single-use aliquots whenever possible to avoid freeze-thaw cycles which can damage the proteins and reduce bioactivity. Store aliquots at -70 °C (or -20 °C)
4. We recommend sterile filtering after dilution in media or the final working solution
