ATG10

Alternative Names: APG10-Like, APG10L, APG10 Autophagy 10-Like (S. Cerevisiae), ATG10 Autophagy Related 10 Homolog (S. Cerevisiae), Autophagy Related Protein 10, DKFZP586I0418, EC 6.3.2.-, FLJ13954, Pp12616, Ubiquitin-Like-Conjugating Enzyme ATG10

ATG10 is a 220 amino acid protein found in the cytoplasm that plays a significant role in autophagy. It acts as an E2-like enzyme in autophagosome synthesis, providing recognition sites for Atg. One of its key functions is catalyzing the conjugation of ATG12 to ATG5, which is essential for autophagy. Moreover, ATG10 interacts with ATG12 in human embryonic kidney cells in the presence of ATG7, likely serving as a recognition molecule for ATG5. Additionally, ATG10 is involved in adenovirus-induced cell lysis.

Product Description

Recombinant Human Autophagy Related 10 (ATG10) is a protein that plays a significant role in the autophagy process, which is responsible for the degradation and recycling of cellular components. Belonging to the ATG family, ATG10 acts as an E2-like enzyme, facilitating the conjugation of ATG12 to ATG5 in the formation of autophagosomes. With a molecular weight of approximately X kDa, ATG10 is involved in the regulation of autophagy, a fundamental cellular mechanism with implications in various physiological and pathological conditions. Understanding the function and characteristics of ATG10 provides valuable insights into the intricate molecular machinery governing autophagy.

Product Guarantee

If your product is within its expiration period, and has not performed according to expectations, fill out the sample return form. Return the unused sample frozen, with the auto generated packing slip to the address on the instructions. You will receive a full refund along with a replacement of the unused portion (inclusive of the failed test). Damages do not cover any additional costs incurred for failed experimentation.

Storage Instruction

Reconstituted store at -20°C or -80°C.We recommend that single use aliquots are prepared to avoid freeze-thaw cycles.

Sample Prep Instruction

1. Thaw the vial on ice, spin briefly
2. Prepare single-use or stock aliquots. This stage will depend on your final application so please adapt as appropriate. All our proteins are supplied carrier protein-free. If compatible with your work and you are storing at lower concentrations (<50 ug/ml) adding carrier protein is highly advised (usually 1% w/v high purity BSA or equivalent – ensure all buffers are sterile-filtered).
3. Prepare single-use aliquots whenever possible to avoid freeze-thaw cycles which can damage the proteins and reduce bioactivity. Store aliquots at -70 °C (or -20 °C)
4. We recommend sterile filtering after dilution in media or the final working solution
