ANXA2

Alternative Names: P36, p36, PAP-IV, Placental anticoagulant protein IV, CAL1H, Calpactin-1 heavy chain, Calpactin I heavy chain, LPC2, LPC2D, Lipocortin II, Lipocortin II, ANXA2, ANX2, Annexin A2, Annexin-2, Annexin II, Chromobindin-8, Protein I

ANXA2 plays a role in regulating cellular growth and signal transduction pathways. It functions as an autocrine factor, promoting osteoclast formation and bone resorption. ANXA2 is connected to sickle cell osteonecrosis and decreased expression is linked to osteosarcoma metastases. Additionally, ANXA2 is involved in the vitamin D binding protein binding site complex on the cell surface and aids in the chemotactic cofactor effect. It also plays a role in dysferlin deficiency and muscular dystrophies. ANXA2 is up-regulated in human colon adenocarcinoma cell differentiation.

Product Description

Recombinant Human Annexin A2 is a protein that plays a significant role in various cellular processes. Belonging to the annexin family, it is involved in the regulation of membrane-related events, such as vesicle trafficking, exocytosis, and endocytosis. With a molecular weight of approximately 36 kDa, Annexin A2 is known for its calcium-dependent binding to phospholipids, which facilitates its participation in membrane organization and dynamics. This recombinant protein offers a valuable tool for studying the intricate mechanisms underlying cellular functions and can contribute to advancements in various fields, including cell biology and biotechnology.

Storage Instruction

Reconstituted store at -20°C or -80°C.We recommend that single use aliquots are prepared to avoid freeze-thaw cycles.

Sample Prep Instruction

1. Thaw the vial on ice, spin briefly
2. Prepare single-use or stock aliquots. This stage will depend on your final application so please adapt as appropriate. All our proteins are supplied carrier protein-free. If compatible with your work and you are storing at lower concentrations (<50 ug/ml) adding carrier protein is highly advised (usually 1% w/v high purity BSA or equivalent – ensure all buffers are sterile-filtered).
3. Prepare single-use aliquots whenever possible to avoid freeze-thaw cycles which can damage the proteins and reduce bioactivity. Store aliquots at -70 °C (or -20 °C)
4. We recommend sterile filtering after dilution in media or the final working solution
