ANXA1

Alternative Names: ANX1, LPC1, ANXA1, Lipocortin I, Calpactin II, Chrombindin-9, p35, Annexin-1, Phospholipase A2 inhibitory protein, Annexin I, Annexin A1.

The ANXA1 protein is a member of the Ca(2+)-dependent phospholipid binding protein family, with a molecular weight (Mw) of 40kDa. It is located on the cytosolic side of the plasma membrane. ANXA1 has the ability to inhibit phospholipase A2, which is necessary for the production of inflammatory mediators such as prostaglandins and leukotrienes. This suggests that ANXA1 may have potential anti-inflammatory effects. Additionally, ANXA1 is involved in membrane fusion and plays a role in exocytosis. Immunocytochemical recognition of the ANXA1 protein can be used as a simple, highly sensitive, and specific diagnostic assay for hairy cell leukemia.

Product Description

Recombinant Human Annexin A1 is a protein derived from genetic engineering techniques. Belonging to the annexin family, it plays a significant role in various biological processes. With a molecular weight of approximately 38 kilodaltons, this protein is involved in the regulation of inflammation, cell migration, and apoptosis. Its recombinant form offers researchers a valuable tool for studying the intricate mechanisms underlying these cellular processes.

Storage Instruction

Reconstituted store at -20°C or -80°C.We recommend that single use aliquots are prepared to avoid freeze-thaw cycles.

Sample Prep Instruction

1. Thaw the vial on ice, spin briefly
2. Prepare single-use or stock aliquots. This stage will depend on your final application so please adapt as appropriate. All our proteins are supplied carrier protein-free. If compatible with your work and you are storing at lower concentrations (<50 ug/ml) adding carrier protein is highly advised (usually 1% w/v high purity BSA or equivalent – ensure all buffers are sterile-filtered).
3. Prepare single-use aliquots whenever possible to avoid freeze-thaw cycles which can damage the proteins and reduce bioactivity. Store aliquots at -70 °C (or -20 °C)
4. We recommend sterile filtering after dilution in media or the final working solution
