AKAP7

Alternative Names: A-kinase anchor protein 9, A-kinase anchor protein 18 kDa, A kinase (PRKA) anchor protein 7, kDa PRKA7 isoforms alpha/beta, PRKA7 isoform gamma, AKAP15, AKAP18.

AKAP7, a member of the AKAP family, binds to the regulatory subunit RII of PKA. It is found in several tissues including the heart, brain, pancreas, lung, and skeletal muscle. AKAP7 facilitates the coupling of PKA to the L-type calcium channel by binding it to the plasma membrane.

Product Description

Recombinant Human A Kinase Anchor Protein 7 (AKAP7) is a member of the A-kinase anchoring protein family. AKAP7 acts as a scaffold protein, facilitating the precise localization and regulation of protein kinase A (PKA) within cells. With a molecular weight of approximately X kDa, AKAP7 plays a crucial role in mediating PKA signaling by anchoring it to specific subcellular compartments. This recombinant protein offers researchers a valuable tool for studying the intricate mechanisms of PKA signaling pathways, contributing to a better understanding of cellular processes.

Storage Instruction

Reconstituted store at -20°C or -80°C.We recommend that single use aliquots are prepared to avoid freeze-thaw cycles.

Sample Prep Instruction

1. Thaw the vial on ice, spin briefly
2. Prepare single-use or stock aliquots. This stage will depend on your final application so please adapt as appropriate. All our proteins are supplied carrier protein-free. If compatible with your work and you are storing at lower concentrations (<50 ug/ml) adding carrier protein is highly advised (usually 1% w/v high purity BSA or equivalent – ensure all buffers are sterile-filtered).
3. Prepare single-use aliquots whenever possible to avoid freeze-thaw cycles which can damage the proteins and reduce bioactivity. Store aliquots at -70 °C (or -20 °C)
4. We recommend sterile filtering after dilution in media or the final working solution
