Actin

Alternative Names: Not Available

Actin, a muscle protein located in the I band of myofibrils, plays a crucial role in muscle contraction and relaxation, working in conjunction with myosin. Each actin unit binds to one ATP molecule and possesses a high affinity site for either calcium or magnesium ions, along with several low affinity sites. In low salt concentrations, actin exists as a monomer, but as salt concentration increases, filaments rapidly form through ATP hydrolysis. Actin appears in two forms, globular (G-actin) and fibrous (F-actin). Present in all eukaryotic cells except for nematode sperm, actin shows a high level of conservation, with less than 20% variation between diverse species such as algae and humans. In addition to its role in muscle function, actin is involved in various cellular processes including cell motility, cell division, cytokinesis, vesicle and organelle movement, cell signaling, and the development and maintenance of cell junctions and shape.

Product Description

Actin Rabbit is a protein that belongs to the actin family, a group of highly conserved proteins involved in cellular processes such as cell motility, cytokinesis, and maintenance of cell shape. With a weight of approximately 42 kDa, Actin Rabbit plays a critical role in the organization and dynamics of the cytoskeleton. It is commonly used as a research tool in various scientific disciplines, including cell biology and molecular biology, to investigate cellular processes and mechanisms. Actin Rabbit's significance lies in its contribution to the understanding of fundamental cellular functions, making it a valuable resource for scientific investigations.

Product Guarantee

If your product is within its expiration period, and has not performed according to expectations, fill out the sample return form. Return the unused sample frozen, with the auto generated packing slip to the address on the instructions. You will receive a full refund along with a replacement of the unused portion (inclusive of the failed test). Damages do not cover any additional costs incurred for failed experimentation.

Storage Instruction

Store lyophilized protein at -20°C. Aliquot the product after reconstitution to avoid repeated freezing/thawing cycles. Reconstituted protein can be stored at 4°C for a limited period of time; it does not show any change after two weeks at 4°C. Store lyophilized protein at -20°C. Sample Prep Instruction

It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized C-Peptide in sterile 18MΩ-cm H2O not less than 100 µg/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
