ACOT7

Alternative Names: Cytosolic acyl coenzyme A thioester hydrolase, Acyl-CoA thioesterase 7, Brain acyl-CoA hydrolase, BACH, CTE-IIa, CTE-II, Long chain acyl-CoA thioester hydrolase, ACOT7, ACT, ACH1, LACH, LACH1, hBACH, RP1-120G22.10.

ACOT7, a member of the acyl coenzyme family, is responsible for hydrolyzing the CoA thioester of palmitoyl-CoA and long-chain fatty acids. Reduced expression of ACOT7 protein is associated with mesial temporal lobe epilepsy.

Product Description

Recombinant Human Acyl-CoA Thioesterase 7 is an enzyme that belongs to the thioesterase family. It plays a role in lipid metabolism by catalyzing the hydrolysis of acyl-CoA esters to free fatty acids and CoA, thereby regulating cellular lipid levels. This enzyme has a molecular weight of approximately 40 kDa. Recombinant Human Acyl-CoA Thioesterase 7 is a promising target for research in the field of lipid metabolism and metabolic disorders.

Storage Instruction

Reconstituted store at -20°C or -80°C.We recommend that single use aliquots are prepared to avoid freeze-thaw cycles.

Sample Prep Instruction

1. Thaw the vial on ice, spin briefly
2. Prepare single-use or stock aliquots. This stage will depend on your final application so please adapt as appropriate. All our proteins are supplied carrier protein-free. If compatible with your work and you are storing at lower concentrations (<50 ug/ml) adding carrier protein is highly advised (usually 1% w/v high purity BSA or equivalent – ensure all buffers are sterile-filtered).
3. Prepare single-use aliquots whenever possible to avoid freeze-thaw cycles which can damage the proteins and reduce bioactivity. Store aliquots at -70 °C (or -20 °C)
4. We recommend sterile filtering after dilution in media or the final working solution
