ACADSB

Alternative Names: Short/branched chain specific acyl-CoA dehydrogenase mitochondrial, ACADSB, ACAD7, SBCAD, 2-methyl branched chain acyl-CoA dehydrogenase, SBCAD, 2-MEBCAD, 2-methylbutyryl-coenzyme A dehydrogenase, 2-methylbutyryl-CoA dehydrogenase, 2-MEBCAD.

ACADSB is an enzyme that belongs to the acyl-CoA dehydrogenase family, involved in the metabolism of fatty acids and branch chained amino acids. It specifically degrades L-isoleucine and has a high affinity for certain substrates like (s)-2-methylbutyryl-CoA and isobutyryl-CoA. Defects in the ACADSB gene lead to SBCADD, a disorder characterized by elevated levels of 2-methylbutyrylglycine and 2-methylbutyrylcarnitine in blood and urine.

Product Description

Recombinant Human Acyl-CoA Dehydrogenase, Short Chain is a member of the acyl-CoA dehydrogenase family, responsible for catalyzing the first step in the beta-oxidation of fatty acids. With a molecular weight of approximately 43 kDa, this enzyme plays a critical role in the breakdown of short-chain fatty acids for energy production. Recombinant Human Acyl-CoA Dehydrogenase, Short Chain is commonly used in research and biotechnology applications for studying fatty acid metabolism and related disorders.

Storage Instruction

Reconstituted store at -20°C or -80°C.We recommend that single use aliquots are prepared to avoid freeze-thaw cycles.

Sample Prep Instruction

1. Thaw the vial on ice, spin briefly
2. Prepare single-use or stock aliquots. This stage will depend on your final application so please adapt as appropriate. All our proteins are supplied carrier protein-free. If compatible with your work and you are storing at lower concentrations (<50 ug/ml) adding carrier protein is highly advised (usually 1% w/v high purity BSA or equivalent – ensure all buffers are sterile-filtered).
3. Prepare single-use aliquots whenever possible to avoid freeze-thaw cycles which can damage the proteins and reduce bioactivity. Store aliquots at -70 °C (or -20 °C)
4. We recommend sterile filtering after dilution in media or the final working solution
